DATA PROTECTION

Privacy Policy

The protection of your personal data is of utmost importance to us. We therefore process your data exclusively in accordance with the statutory provisions (GDPR, Telecommunications Act 2003). In this privacy policy, we – the team of MEP Lukas Mandl – inform you about the most important aspects of data processing in the context of public relations, our website and newsletter, and personal contacts.

Contact us

If you contact us via the form on the website, via newsletter, or by email, the data you provide will be stored for six months to process your request and in case of follow-up questions. We will not share this data without your consent.

Newsletter / Receipt of Information Messages / Public Relations

If you would like to receive ongoing information about the work of MEP Lukas Mandl, you can sign up for regular mailings and/or subscribe to our newsletter via our website or by email. For this purpose, we require your (email) address, name, and your declaration that you agree to receive recurring (including electronic) mailings related to political work at the European and Austrian level, in particular parliamentary activities, commentaries on current developments and events, information on planned events, and subsequent reporting on them, to the address provided.

Without the data provided, this ongoing information cannot be provided.

The mailings are sent by us or third parties commissioned by us, possibly using different sender email addresses. Once you have registered, we will send you a confirmation email with a link to confirm your registration.

We process and store the data you provide for this purpose until you revoke your consent. You can revoke your consent to the processing of your data and to the sending of the newsletter or ongoing information at any time by clicking on the link at the end of any information message you receive, which will unsubscribe you from the information service ("unsubscribe"). You can also notify us of your revocation in writing to the email address provided in the imprint, stating your first name, last name, and email address. We will then immediately delete your data in connection with the respective newsletter and information mailing, unless there is a separate legal basis for processing the data (to the extent necessary).

We will link the registration for the respective newsletters and mailings with the data already existing about a person and, until a corresponding objection is made, will use this as the basis for targeted and interest-related information and communication.

We process the data (name, email address, telephone number) of journalists and individuals professionally involved in the media dissemination of news and information, including for the purpose of sending information about political work, in particular the activity as an MEP in the above-mentioned sense, based on the legitimate interest in disseminating information about political work, in particular parliamentary activity, as well as statements on current political developments and events through the media in order to fulfill parliamentary duties with the greatest possible publicity, also within the meaning of Section 1 of the Political Parties Act. The data comes from publications on the respective media websites or public registers, as well as from personal disclosures to MEP Mag. Mandl or his staff, and will be processed until the respective individual leaves their journalistic activity.

Photos and videos are also taken to document and present public appearances by MEP Lukas Mandl at events organized and held by MEP Lukas Mandl or on his behalf. The photos and video recordings are subsequently stored for these purposes and used and published in the course of public relations work, particularly in the media (both analogue, such as mailings, newspaper articles, flyers, etc., and digital, such as on websites, online articles, newsletters, etc.).

This processing is based on the legitimate interests of MEP Lukas Mandl in the internal and external documentation and public presentation of his activities. If you do not wish your photos to be used, you can object to this by sending an email to guenther.bitschnau@lukasmandl.eu. At events not organized by MEP Lukas Mandl but attended by him, photos may also be taken by third parties in connection with MEP Lukas Mandl's appearance. These photos and videos will also be processed for the above purposes.

If no objection is made, the photos will generally be kept and stored – particularly for documentation and archiving purposes – until MEP Mag. Lukas Mandl leaves his position, followed by a subsequent period of ten years.

Legal basis for data processing

Data processing is carried out on the basis of the statutory provisions of the GDPR and its implementing provisions, in particular based on consent (Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR) and/or based on overriding legitimate interests (Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

Security Notice

We strive to store personal data in such a way that it is not accessible to third parties by taking all technical and organizational measures. However, we cannot guarantee complete data security when communicating via email, so we recommend sending confidential information by post.

Data transfer to third countries

Data will only be transferred to third countries if we use third-party services for which such transfer is necessary for the use of the service. This is particularly the case for individual participation offers for which we use services to create special participation websites. However, data will never be transferred to third parties for additional data processing or personal data will never be processed for additional purposes. Furthermore, data will only be transferred to those companies and organizations in third countries that guarantee compliance with the data protection level according to EU regulations (in particular, Privacy Shield-certified US companies).

Your rights

You generally have the right to information, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, revocation, and objection. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or that your data protection rights have otherwise been violated in any way, you can lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the Data Protection Authority.
