Austrian MEP Lukas Mandl drew attention to the European Parliament plenary session on how antisemitism arises and how attempts are made to justify antisemitic acts – using the example of the hunt for Jewish people in the streets of Amsterdam in early November 2024. Mandl emphasized that it is intolerable that Jewish people in today's Europe "do not feel safe," but that those who commit antisemitic acts "can feel safe." Responsibility for this lies "also with some politicians" in Europe. When Jewish people are "persecuted, beaten, and killed," it is "the dignity and civil liberties of all those who are persecuted, subjected to violence, and wiped out," Mandl concluded.
